In January 2019, CasaCuba and Books & Books launched CasaCuba at Books & Books, a Cuban literature book club. Together, with the advice of experts on Cuban literature - academics, writers and publishers - we curated an inaugural list of books that included works by acclaimed writers who represent the contemporary Cuban literary tradition.
Throughout 2019 the club met the last Tuesday of every month. At each meeting, a reader from the community was invited to lead an informal discussion on the book of the month, in English or Spanish, with the purpose of motivating a thoughtful and lively conversation that transcends literature, fostering a deeper understanding of Cuban history, culture, and identity.
In the second year of the initiative, CasaCuba and Books & Books have selected Cuban author and award-winning journalist Mirta Ojito to moderate all meetings of the Contemporary Cuban Literature Circle, renamed "Leyendo con Mirta."
The club will meet at 7 PM on the dates listed below at Books & Books, Coral Gables.

En enero de 2019, CasaCuba y Books & Books lanzaron CasaCuba en Books & Books, un círculo de literatura cubana contemporánea. Juntos, con el asesoramiento de expertos en literatura cubana - académicos, escritores y editores - seleccionamos una lista inaugural de libros que incluía obras de aclamados escritores quienes representan la tradición literaria cubana contemporánea.
A lo largo del 2019, el club se reunió el último martes de cada mes. En cada reunión, un lector de la comunidad fue invitado a dirigir una conversación informal sobre el libro del mes, en inglés o español, con el propósito de motivar una conversación reflexiva y animada que trasciende la literatura, fomentando una comprensión más profunda de la historia, cultura e identidad cubana.
En su segundo año, CasaCuba y Books & Books le dan la bienvenida a la autora cubana y periodista galardonada Mirta Ojito, quien moderará todas las discusiones literarias del Círculo de literatura cubana contemporánea, el cual se nombra ahora Leyendo con Mirta.
El círculo se reunirá a las 7 PM en las fechas indicadas en Books & Books, Coral Gables.
